CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Current temperature is at 39 F as of 7:35 PM. There are clear skies over GA with no precipitation nearby. Winds are elevated with a moderate breeze being present.
Forecast for January 9, 2025
A low of 23 F and a high of 47 F is expected, with no precipitation. Although no precipitation is expected for Thursday, the high that has been present over the Southeast region is expected to get pushed out to Atlantic by an approaching low. This low pressure system is bringing instability with wintry precipitation in itis mix. Friday promises a day of wintry precipitation for Northern GA, but uncertain chance for central GA. Models are uncertain, but so far estimating only rainy conditions. More details to come as atmospheric conditions become more concrete.
Cloud coverage can be expected to remain clear most of the day. As we head into Friday we can expect conditions to become continuously more overcast as the low approaches the state of GA.
Winds are expected to remain largely clam, with light breezes present throughout the day.
Forecast data pulled from the GFS, NAM, and KMCN MOS.
FORECAST CHECK-IN:
My Forecast: Low: 23 F, High: 47 F, No precipitation
Actual Weather Conditions: Low: 23 F, High: 50 F, No precipitation
A good forecast, pleased that the low was spot on. I didn't give much of an explanation on this forecast, so I don't have a good reasoning for why I went so low on the low (I only looked at the GFS and NAM this day, and both predicted a low of 27 F).
High could have been closer, but very happy with the outcome.
