CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Current tmeperature as of 11:20 PM is 36 F. There are overcast skies over Central GA, with a light rain falling in the area. The system that brought wintry precipitation to Northern GA & Atlanta, and rain to the rest of the state is moving out to the east. Even thought the core of the system has passed to the east, a train of rain can be seen moving through GA for some hours to come.
Forecast for January 11, 2025
A low of 30 F and a high of 42 F is expected with light precipitation in the overnight morning hours.
Light precipitation can be expected in the overnight morning hours from the leftovers of the system that brought wintry precipitation of the state. Conditions are expected to clear after the system moves out, with less than 0.25" expected to accumulate.
Can expect broken cloud coverage around the afternoon. Cloud coverage is expected to remain scattered for the rest of the day.
Light breezes can be expected during the very early portion of the overnight morning hours, before giving way to moderate wind conditions. These conditions will be maintained until the evening hours, venturing to gentle breezes afterwards.
I did not check the MOS data due to time constraint, and the models being in pretty good agreement with each other.
FORECAST CHECK-IN:
My Forecast: Low: 30 F, High: 42 F, Less than 0.25" of precipitation
Actual Weather Conditions: Low: 26, High: 45 F, No precipitation
I kept my expectations close to the GFS for this one, which of course made my low too warm, and my high too cold. I also expected rain from the passing system to still be lingering, but the system moved out quicker than I had anticipated.
An okay forecast, it did stay within the set margin of error.
